Another student arrested in sports school murder probe

Another Form 4 student has been arrested in connection with the death of a junior at a sports school in Negeri Sembilan, according to police chief Alzafny Ahmad. The student, who has been placed on remand since September 28, is understood to have been involved in the alleged assault of the victim, Idlan Fareeq Shahril, who was found unconscious in the dormitory and later died in hospital.

An initial post-mortem examination at Tuanku Ja afar Hospital was inconclusive in determining the cause of death. The victim's history of asthma was revealed during the investigation. Police have conducted interviews with 68 witnesses, including students, hostel wardens, and teachers. The Education Minister, Fadhlina Sidek, has ordered an immediate audit of the school's safety compliance after the incident. Idlan's aunt has alleged that a senior student assaulted her nephew.
