Allegri & Amorim to Tinker with Their Go-To Formations

Massimiliano Allegri and Ruben Amorim are planning tactical adjustments to their preferred formations ahead of Serie A’s upcoming matches. Milan has recently showcased their best performance against Lecce, while Napoli has been struggling. Allegri is concerned about the defensive frailties of his system, which has led to six goals conceded in the last five rounds.

The Azzurri boss is contemplating a shift to a three-man back line, which could potentially sideline players like Matteo Politano in favor of others who haven't been regulars.

Amorim, on the other hand, could adopt a more robust formation, possibly transitioning from the current 3-4-2-1 to a more pronounced 4-2-3-1. This move would involve consistent starts by Alexis Saelemaekers and Diego Moreira as wingers, replacing Alphadjo Cissé, Omari Hutchinson, or their more muscular alternatives. Samuel Chukwueze would continue to play behind Mario Gila in this scenario.

Christian Pulisic would serve as the primary number ten, while Pervis Estupinan and Davide Bartesaghi would occupy the left-back positions.
