ADC Ekiti disowns report naming Eleka as state leader

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Ekiti State Chapter has rejected a report circulating on social media that claimed former Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka, had been named the state leader of the party. The party's State Publicity Secretary, Rt. Hon. Gboyega Aribisogan, clarified in a public statement that neither the State Executive Committee, State Working Committee, nor the Stakeholders Forum had endorsed Eleka for the role.

He emphasized that the position of State Leader is not recognized under the ADC Constitution and that any leadership arrangement in the state must adhere to the party’s constitution, constitutional provisions, and approval by the national leadership. The ADC accused certain individuals who worked with the opposition during the last governorship election of undermining the efforts of ADC members, suggesting they are unsuitable to be presented as leaders of the party.

The chapter urged its members, the general public, and the ADC national secretariat to ignore the publication identifying Eleka as the state leader.
