3 Caged Over Circle Phone Dealer’s Murder

Three individuals have been taken into custody by the Teshie District Court in connection with the murder of phone dealer Nana Yaw Kyere, also known as Dinero. The suspects, Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams, and Josiah Obodai, appeared in court on September 24, 2026, where they were charged with the preliminary offense of murder. The court has adjourned the case until October 16, 2026, as police continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the victim's death.

According to initial findings, Kyere, 33, was last seen leaving his home in Kokomlemle, Accra, on September 19, 2026, in his Honda Civic. He reportedly did not return home and was lured to Tefe's residence in Teshie Agbleza by Sarah Osei Adams on the same day. Both accused individuals have reportedly confessed to their role in the murder, stating that Tefe attacked Kyere during a confrontation, striking him with a metallic object.

The victim's body was subsequently moved to another room and left unattended before dying. Police investigations revealed that the victim's body was transported to a location near the motorway on September 20, 2026, where it was disposed of in a bush and set on fire. The partially burned body was discovered at Community 18 on September 21, 2026, and later identified by the victim's biological mother and an uncle at the Police Hospital morgue on September 24, 2026.

In addition to the murder charges, Tefe is also being investigated for allegedly selling Kyere's iPhone 12 for GH¢100 to Sunday Omeje, who has been cautioned and detained for dishonestly receiving the phone. The police have since arrested Josiah Obodai, who is being investigated in connection with the disposal of the body. His father's Kia Morning vehicle, believed to have been used to transport the body, has been impounded.

As investigations continue, authorities are working to identify and apprehend any additional suspects involved in the case.
