2027: No more fake promises – Peter Obi

Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate Peter Obi has declared that there will be no more empty promises to Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections. This pledge was made in a recent X post by the candidate, following a visit to the Sultan of Sokoto. At a town hall meeting in Sokoto, Obi expressed his satisfaction with the engagement, emphasizing the opportunity to listen, answer questions, and speak frankly about the vision for Nigeria he and his running mate, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, aspire to create.

He acknowledged that the road ahead is challenging, but with determination, competence, compassion, and character, they have the potential to transform the narrative. Obi reiterated that the campaign will be free of deceit, focusing on the need to unite the country, tackle insecurity, and address the root causes of poverty, unemployment, hunger, and hopelessness.

He also highlighted the detrimental impact of "money politics" and the need to break the cycle of bad leadership driven by transactional politics.
