11 injured after school van catches fire in Murree

Eleven individuals were injured when a school van veered off the road and caught fire in Murree on Tuesday, according to police reports. The incident occurred near Bara Hotar Link Road, as stated by Rescue 1122. The Suzuki Bolan vehicle lost control and ignited, prompting rescue teams to swiftly arrive at the scene. Preliminary information indicated that the passengers, primarily schoolchildren, were successfully removed from the vehicle and only sustained minor injuries.

Despite the initial fire, all 11 passengers managed to evacuate the burning vehicle unscathed, aside from nine who suffered burns of varying severity and two who remained unharmed.

This tragedy echoes a similar incident in Karachi's Shah Faisal Colony flyover earlier this year, where eight students were injured when a school van caught fire while in motion. In February, a schoolgirl lost her life, and six others were injured after their van was struck by a dumper in Okara. Another heartbreaking episode unfolded in March when two teenage sisters perished from severe burns after their family van was engulfed in flames.
