Why Tamil Nadu’s men are dying younger
In Tamil Nadu, a considerable difference exists in death rates between men and women across all age groups. Nearly 86% of the excess male deaths occur in younger populations, particularly aged 15 to 64. Risk factors include road crashes and chronic illnesses, which disproportionately affect men. Although health programs exist, they are not organized to effectively reduce male mortality.
