Uba Sani to clear inherited debts, contractors hail Gov

Governor Uba Sani has been lauded for implementing a monthly payment plan to settle debts inherited from the previous administration, according to Engr. Ahmed Baba, Chairman of the Contractors Association of Kaduna State. During a meeting between senior government officials and the association's leaders in Kaduna, Baba highlighted how Sani, despite inheriting a significant financial burden, has showcased strong leadership by taking steps to pay off these liabilities.

The monthly payment schedule, Baba explained, is designed to systematically alleviate the financial pressure on contractors who previously worked on projects for the state. "Despite inheriting a huge burden of outstanding liabilities, His Excellency has demonstrated true leadership. He has made it clear that government is a continuum and that contractors must not suffer for their service to the state," Baba quoted Sani as saying.

Since the start of the current administration, Baba noted, contractors have not faced any outstanding payments. He praised the governor's efforts, stating that the construction sector is encouraged by these developments. The association expressed its gratitude to Sani and pledged its support for the administration's infrastructure development plans.

Baba also urged contractors to uphold quality and timely project completion to reciprocate the governor's benevolence.
