Three policemen killed in firing on police vehicle in Tank

Three police officers were killed and two others wounded after unidentified armed individuals opened fire on a police vehicle in Wazirabad, Tank district, according to Aaj News quoting police on Monday. The assault occurred within the jurisdiction of SMA police station, where the assailants targeted the police vehicle. Three officers perished at the scene, while two sustained injuries.

Subsequently, a large police force arrived at the location and surrounded it. Police investigators gathered evidence from the crime scene. The deceased and injured were transported to the District Headquarters Hospital for legal and medical procedures, respectively. Police initiated a search operation to locate and apprehend the perpetrators, while further investigation into the incident was underway.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed sorrow over the loss of three police lives and extended condolences to their families. He paid tribute to the fallen officers for their service in combating terrorism, stating that the government stands with their families and that their sacrifices will not be in vain.
