South Africa-bound Renault Triber Turbo priced in India

Renault has given a sneak peek into the pricing of the Triber Turbo, which will be launched in South Africa soon. The turbocharged version of the popular mini SUV will be priced higher than its non-turbo counterpart. The Triber Turbo utilizes the same turbocharged 1.0-liter TCe 100 engine, which generates 100 PS or 74 kW of power.

This version of the Triber boasts 20 Nm more torque compared to its standard sibling, making it a powerhouse on the road. Interestingly, the Triber Turbo maintains a five-speed manual gearbox, unlike the Magnite and Kiger which come with automatic transmissions. The vehicle's fuel efficiency is estimated to be around 4.8 L/100 km, and it is equipped with a new cooling fan that enhances energy efficiency and thermal management.

Under the hood, the Triber Turbo features structural enhancements such as new front and rear anti-roll bars, upgraded brakes, variable dampers, and revised suspension geometry. The SUV's design remains largely unchanged with the addition of a subtle "Turbo" badge on the tailgate. Inside, the Triber Turbo offers identical features to its naturally aspirated sibling, including up to six airbags, parking sensors, a reverse camera, rear air conditioning vents, climate control, rain sense wipers, and a wireless smartphone charging pad.

Priced between Rs 784,900 and Rs 899,900 in India, the Triber Turbo will translate to between R134,308 and R153,987 in South Africa, depending on the trim level. The entry-level Authentic variant, however, will not be available with the turbocharged engine. While Renault South Africa has yet to confirm the launch date for the Triber Turbo, the SUV is expected to be pricier in the local market compared to its non-turbo counterpart.
