Russian drone strike sets a building belonging to Ukraine’s National Academy of Sciences on fire in central Kyiv, killing at least two people

On a recent day in Kyiv, a Russian drone attack struck a building belonging to Ukraine's National Academy of Sciences. The strike set fire to the structure, and videos circulating on social media indicated that individuals were present when the attack occurred. These individuals can be seen frantically attempting to flee the inferno via the windows of the burning building.

Local authorities reported that casualties were sustained during the assault, with the death toll reaching at least two individuals. The German Embassy and a Ukrtelecom office are situated approximately 300 meters away from the academy.

Further to this incident, another drone strike took place in Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district. This attack targeted the Dobrobut Academy, a substantial medical education institution. Notably, the building that houses Ukraine's Constitutional Court lies directly across from the National Academy of Sciences.
