Report: Mike Evans 'day-to-day' with rib strain for 49ers

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans is currently in a day-to-day situation with a rib strain he picked up during Week 3, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The team has not disclosed Evans' recovery timeline, but Rapoport mentioned that he will receive a comprehensive examination on Sunday. Evans had been listed as questionable for the Week 3 encounter against the Arizona Cardinals at Levi's Stadium.

He sustained the injury on a third-and-10 incompletion from Brock Purdy and required assistance from the training staff to exit the field before being transported to the locker room. Kyle Shanahan confirmed during the post-game press conference that Evans suffered a rib/oblique injury, and the team is still uncertain about the severity of the issue.

Prior to the game, Evans had contributed with three catches for 34 yards and a touchdown on six targets.
