Radio, TV diarah ubah program tanda penghormatan buat Hasmah

Menteri Komunikasi Fahmi Fadzil honored Dr Hasmah Ali at her home in The Mines today, instructing all broadcast media to alter their schedules throughout the day in her memory. The directive came after Hasmah's passing at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in the morning. The government recognized her contributions as a devoted mother and doctor, praising her impact on society.

"She has influenced many with her service as both a mother and a doctor, forever remembered," Fahmi told reporters after the final tribute at Hasmah's family residence in The Mines. Meanwhile, the minister shared personal memories from when he was 12 years old, performing a school play with a friend who witnessed Hasmah perform.

He recalled those early memories fondly, noting that Hasmah was also the late former Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad's wife. Hasmah departed this world at 9:25 AM today at the age of 100. Her body was then transported to her family's residence in The Mines Residence, Seri Kembangan, and laid to rest at the National Palace, Presint 20, Putrajaya later that afternoon.
