Phone dealer murder: 3 suspects remanded as court adjourns Teshie case

Three suspects, Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams, and Josiah Obodai, appeared before the Teshie District Court in connection with the kidnapping and murder of 33-year-old mobile phone dealer Nana Yaw Kyere, also known as Dinero. The case has been adjourned to October 16, 2026. Kyere went missing on September 22, 2026, after leaving his home in Kokomlemle, Accra, in his Honda Civic on September 19th, and failing to return.

According to police, he was lured to the residence of Tefe by Sarah Osei Adams, where they confessed to their involvement in the crime. Tefe claimed he attacked Kyere with a metallic object during a confrontation, after which Kyere was moved to another room and left unattended to die. His body was transported in a Kia Morning to an area near the motorway, dumped in a bush, and set on fire.

Kyere's body was identified by his biological mother and an uncle at the Police Hospital morgue on September 24, 2026. The suspects also recovered the iPhone 12 that Tefe allegedly sold for GH¢100, which has been confiscated by police. Josiah Obodai was arrested for allegedly disposing of the body, and his father's Kia Morning, likely used in the transportation, has been seized by authorities.
