Over 20 Injured In Kharkiv, Two Killed In Kyiv Region: Russian Army Doesn’t Stop Attacks On Ukraine

Overnight and into the morning of September 28, Russian occupation forces launched a massed attack on Ukraine, targeting Kyiv, Kyiv region, Kharkiv, and Sumy. The State Emergency Service (DSNS) reported damage to a gas station and an office building in two Kyiv districts, while a 16-story residential building in the capital suffered significant damage. Emergency services are currently responding to the scenes, with all necessary medical assistance being provided.

In Kyiv, Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that three people were injured due to Russian strikes. A 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl received medical assistance at the scene, while a 17-year-old boy was hospitalized. The day prior, a Ukrainian child was also injured in Kyiv. Falling UAV debris was found in a park, near a playground, and at a kindergarten.

In the Podilskyi district, a non-residential building was damaged, leading to a fire that destroyed part of its roof. Nearby, the blast wave damaged window glazing in an adjacent residential building. Three people sustained injuries as a result.

Russian forces also targeted Kyiv's suburbs with strike drones, resulting in two fatalities and 10 injuries. The injured individuals are receiving the required medical care. Additionally, a passenger car sustained damage in Boryspil district, while a grain storage facility and an apartment building were hit in Bila Tserkva district.

In Kharkiv, Russian forces conducted a double strike using guided aerial bombs, injuring 24 people, including eight children. Residential buildings in two districts of the city were damaged, with one hit landing on an apartment building. Mayor Ihor Terekhov stated that this was the first strike of this scale in recent times.
