Out-Of-Contract Italian Trio Expected to Leave Lazio

Lazio is reported to be parting ways with an out-of-contract trio of Italian players whose contracts expire at the end of the current season. Four Lazio players, including Ivan Provedel, Mario Gila, and Alessio Romagnoli, were offloaded to the summer transfer window, and Samuel Gigot's contract was also cancelled. All four players had the same deadline to renew their contracts, which was June 2027.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, at least three of these players will not be offered new deals, and they are expected to leave the club. The first name on that list is Luca Pellegrini, who has fallen down the pecking order since Alfonso Pedraza joined the team. He was omitted from the Serie A squad list, along with Patric, who recently completed a transfer to Al-Ittifaq. It remains uncertain whether Pellegrini will stay at Formello until the season's end or find a new club in January.

Manuel Lazzari is another Italian player facing a similar fate, positioned as the third choice in his position, with Romano Floriani Mussolini and Adam Marusic ahead of him. The 32-year-old has managed to retain his spot in the squad but a future at Lazio appears unlikely. Danilo Cataldi, who joined the club after Ciro Immobile's departure in 2024, has struggled to secure a new contract and his ongoing physical issues haven't helped his cause.
