Nigerian Air Force completes local reassembly of first two H125 helicopters

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully reassembled its first two H125 helicopters at NAF Base Ikeja in Lagos. The Nigerian Air Force made this announcement in a statement on Monday. The helicopters were delivered by Airbus Helicopters and reassembled with the assistance of Airbus technical personnel. This accomplishment aims to strengthen technical collaboration, facilitate knowledge transfer, and enhance practical experience for NAF personnel in maintaining modern rotary-wing platforms.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, stated that this development is a positive step towards strengthening the technical and operational capacity of the Nigerian Air Force. Aneke emphasized that the acquisition of modern platforms is not enough; the service is also committed to developing the knowledge, partnerships, and support systems necessary to maximize their operational value and ensure their longevity.

The H125 helicopters will provide additional capabilities for ongoing air operations, such as surveillance, tactical mobility, and other support missions. The NAF expressed gratitude for the continued support and strategic direction provided by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, highlighting his administration's commitment to bolstering national security capabilities, which supports the fleet modernization and operational effectiveness of the NAF.
