NEO A&M Soccer bests Eastern Oklahoma in down to the wire contest

Miami, OK — The Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College Golden Norsemen secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Eastern Oklahoma State in a thrilling down-to-the-wire match. The Norsemen, now 5-2-1 overall, displayed physical play throughout the game, accumulating three yellow cards while pressuring Eastern Oklahoma off the ball. Possession and scoring opportunities fluctuated, with Eastern Oklahoma managing to threaten with their set pieces, including free and corner kicks.

Despite the pressure, goalkeeper Pedro Branquinho kept a clean sheet, giving his team time to find the back of the net. Late in the game, after a long shot from White was tipped out by Eastern's goalkeeper, Zach White found the net, sealing the win for the Norsemen. Eastern Oklahoma couldn't mount a comeback, and the Norsemen claimed the match by a narrow margin. The team will face Murray State College in their next match on September 30 in Tishomingo, OK.
