Matthew Stafford, the quarterback, achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first player in NFL history to surpass 20,000 passing yards with two different teams. Stafford's journey began with the Los Angeles Rams, where he amassed 20,079 yards. After crossing the 20,000-yard mark during a game against the Denver Broncos, his total career yards stood at 65,188.

Stafford had recorded 45,109 yards during his tenure with the Detroit Lions, including 282 touchdowns in 165 games. This accomplishment occurred six seasons into his time with the Rams. Despite playing for two distinct teams, Stafford's statistics closely mirror each other. With the Lions, he completed 62.6% of his passes, threw 282 touchdowns, and had 144 interceptions, resulting in a passer rating of 89.9.

Conversely, with the Rams, he completed 65.5% of his passes, threw 145 touchdowns, had 54 interceptions, and achieved a 98.6 passer rating. Stafford's passing yards per game averaged 273.4 with the Lions and 261.7 with the Rams. Notably, Stafford's career record as a starter in Detroit was 74-90-1, and he entered his final game with the Rams at 47-29, which included securing a Super Bowl title.
