Man City CEO 'defiant' over Premier League charges

Manchester City's chief executive has defiantly vowed to challenge the Premier League's decision to find the club guilty of a majority of the 115 charges brought against them. At a board meeting of European Football Clubs in Copenhagen, Ferran Soriano vowed to fight the charges and highlighted that the process had a long way to run.

The accusations against City centered on claims they inflated sponsorship revenue from connected companies and made off-the-books payments to circumvent financial regulations. The club was found guilty of the vast majority of the 115 charges on Friday, leaving Premier League clubs to seek legal advice on potential compensation. City, however, will appeal the decision and sanctions are yet to be announced, though potential repercussions include a points deduction, expulsion from the top flight, or a significant fine.
