Man City case shows need for financial transparency, says Tebas

La Liga president Javier Tebas has called for enhanced financial transparency measures within football following Manchester City's alleged violation of Premier League regulations. City's chairman, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, insisted on Saturday that the club is innocent, maintaining their innocence despite being accused of 114 out of 115 breaches of financial rules, including failure to disclose accurate financial information and cooperation with an investigation.

Tebas emphasized in a lengthy social media post that the incident underscores the necessity of economic controls, transparency, and equal rules for all to safeguard football's integrity and sustainability. He recalled his earlier 2017 concerns about "financial doping" involving clubs like City and Paris Saint-Germain, who allegedly benefited from significant economic resources from Gulf countries to enhance their competitive edge.

Tebas's assertions have at times been perceived as efforts to shield Spanish football powerhouses Real Madrid and Barcelona, who are the world's two richest clubs according to Forbes and Deloitte.
