1MDB and ten other companies have sought an order for Malaysia's Rosmah Mansor to pay USD346,010,489, or any amount deemed just, in a lawsuit alleging that the money was used to fund luxury purchases under the guise of 1MDB funds. Public Prosecutor Adam @ Edward Abdullah set a hearing date for January 7, 2027, to hear and decide the application for a Mareva injunction by the plaintiffs during the ongoing legal proceedings. Mareva injunction is a court order halting a defendant from disposing of or controlling their assets while legal proceedings are ongoing.

Rosmah's lawyers are Sheena Stephanie Sebastian, while 1MDB is represented by Henna Nikita Sanghvi. The lawsuit was filed by 1MDB and its five subsidiaries: 1MDB Energy Holdings Limited, 1MDB Energy Limited, 1MDB Energy (Langat) Limited, Global Diversified Investment Company Limited, and SRC International Sdn Bhd. Five other companies – Affinity Equity International Partners Limited, Alsen Chance Holdings Limited, Blackrock Commodities (Global) Limited, Blackstone Asia Real Estate Partners Limited, and Brightstone Jewellery Limited – also acted as plaintiffs in the suit.

In May 2024, 1MDB and the ten other companies filed a lawsuit against Rosmah and the Singapore fashion designer Shabnam, also known as Natasha Mirpuri, as the first and second defendants. The plaintiffs withdrew their claim against Shabnam in April of last year. They are seeking a court order requiring Rosmah to pay USD346,010,489, or any amount the court deems just, in the lawsuit related to the alleged purchase of luxury items allegedly funded by misappropriated 1MDB funds.

The plaintiffs also seek disclosure of the first to sixth plaintiff shareholders who are alleged to own the luxury items in Rosmah's possession.
