Man attempts to stab policeman at Batu 9 police station

At around 12:10am two days ago, a man attempted to stab a policeman near the Batu 9 police station. The incident unfolded when the suspect, riding a motorcycle, tried to enter the station compound. The policeman, on duty at the time, opened the gate and approached the man to inquire about his reason for visiting. However, the suspect refused to answer any questions, dismounted his motorcycle, and reached into the storage box at the rear.

There, he pulled out a knife and lunged at the policeman's abdomen. Fortunately, the knife struck the officer's belt, sparing him from a more severe injury. The suspect then engaged in a struggle with the policeman, until reinforcements arrived and managed to detain him. One of the officers who aided in apprehending the suspect sustained cuts to both palms.

The 54-year-old suspect had no prior criminal history and was not wanted by the authorities. Police confiscated a knife measuring approximately 20cm for further examination. The motive behind the man's visit to the station and the reason for his possession of the weapon are currently under investigation by the police.
