Liverpool have chance to steal 'fantastic' star from Real Madrid

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has shown promise in his short tenure with the club. Despite being in an international break, he has already included several of Liverpool's youngsters in his first-team squad, allowing players like Trey Nyoni, James McConnell, and Rio Ngumoha to take on more significant roles. This move is expected to greatly benefit their development.

However, Liverpool continues to seek ways to enhance their roster. Over the summer, various players were considered, with a particular focus on bolstering their defense. Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo were brought in to address this issue, but Liverpool remains on the hunt for additional signing.

Jacobo Ramon, a highly talented center-back, was among the options Liverpool explored during the summer transfer window. He had previously rejected a return to Real Madrid in favor of more playing time at Como. Despite Real Madrid's attempts to re-sign him last season, Jacobo has no plans to rejoin the Spanish giants in the near future. This is due to his desire to continue feeling important and playing wherever he is deployed.

In the upcoming season, Liverpool's first-choice center-backs are currently Virgil van Dijk and Jacquet. However, with Van Dijk's contract set to expire at the end of the season, his future remains uncertain. Additionally, Ronald Araujo is only on a season-long loan deal, providing no assurance that Liverpool's option to purchase him will be triggered.

As a result, Jacobo Ramon would likely receive ample playing time at Liverpool. With Joe Gomez's contract also expiring in June 2027, the club may need to find a replacement for the Argentine defender.
