Lions injury updates: Cade Mays still out, Amon-Ra St. Brown 'OK'

Detroit Lions center Cade Mays will not play against the Carolina Panthers this week due to a broken right wrist sustained early in training camp. Lions coach Dan Campbell mentioned that Mays is set to return from injured reserve after the bye week, although he did not provide a specific date for his return. The Lions will face the Panthers, Arizona Cardinals, and have a bye week before their October 18 game.

Mays, 27, had played most of his first four seasons with the Panthers and became the team's primary starting center in recent years.

Receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown played 48 of the possible 65 snaps in Sunday's win over the New York Jets and left the field slowly multiple times. Coach Campbell stated that St. Brown is fine and that the team will be fine with his condition. Safety Thomas Harper, who was placed on injured reserve on Saturday due to an ankle injury, remains uncertain about playing again this year. Campbell admitted that he is not sure about Harper's situation and that he will have to wait and see.
