Lions injury updates: Cade Mays still out, Amon-Ra St. Brown 'OK'

The Detroit Lions have updated their injury status for the upcoming week. Center Cade Mays, the team's biggest free agent acquisition from the previous offseason, will miss the game against their former club, the Carolina Panthers, due to a broken right wrist sustained early in training camp. Lions coach Dan Campbell revealed that Mays is targeting a return from injured reserve following the bye week, though he was hesitant to provide a specific timeline.

Mays, 27, had played most of his first four seasons with the Panthers and served as the Lions' primary starting center for the past two years.

Receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown played only 48 of the possible 65 snaps in Sunday's victory over the New York Jets, leaving the field multiple times during the game. Despite the reduced playing time, Campbell stated that St. Brown is fine and expects him to be ready for the next game. Safety Thomas Harper, who was placed on injured reserve on Saturday due to an ankle injury, remains uncertain about his availability for the remainder of the season.

Campbell expressed uncertainty about Harper's future, emphasizing that it would be too early to make any definitive decisions at this point.
