Lee Hsien Loong remembers Siti Hasmah as warm, gracious and full of life

Singapore's Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong remembered late Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali as warm, gracious, and full of life. The wife of former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad passed away at the age of 100 at the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur on Monday. Lee conveyed his condolences to Dr Mahathir and his family, expressing that Dr Siti Hasmah devoted much of her life to improving the health and well-being of Malaysians, especially women, children, and families.

In a Facebook post today, Lee said Ho Ching and he would fondly remember her. He also recalled their interactions regarding her passion for music and the violin. Lee remembered speaking to Dr Siti Hasmah about her violin performance at Istana Budaya, where she played for a good cause, and continued performing well into her 90s, including raising funds for charity. Her zest for life was remarkable, Lee said.
