LASEMA records multiple emergency operations across Lagos

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) reported multiple emergency operations across the state from Friday to Sunday, including road accidents, truck breakdowns, and a fire outbreak. LASEMA's statement, signed by Permanent Secretary Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, detailed various interventions carried out by the agency throughout the period.

On Friday, at 8:41am, LASEMA responded to a broken-down containerized truck at Palm Avenue Bus Stop, inward Oye. The Eagle Team managed traffic and the Super Metro helped recover the truck. Later that evening, another containerized truck incident was reported at Ojuwoye Bus Stop, inward Oshodi. The Tiger Squad managed the scene, allowing the truck to be recovered and moved to a safe location.

On Saturday, a road traffic accident involving a Ford Escape SUV and a moving truck occurred at Otedola, Mobil inward Berger. Tiger Squad from C3 handled the accident, with paramedics providing first aid to the injured. LASTMA, LASAMBUS, and the Nigeria Police Force also responded to the scene.

On Friday evening, a mechanical fault caused a containerized truck to become immobile at Olorunshogo Bus Stop, inward Cappa. The Super Metro helped recover the vehicle. Additionally, a containerized truck conveying interlocks broke down at Ojuwoye on Sunday, which was later recovered.

On Sunday, a fire outbreak at Bakare Street, Ojodu Berger, affected three shops. The Tiger Team and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LASTMA) contained and extinguished the fire without loss of life. Another incident involved a 40ft loaded container at Shoprite, inward Governor’s Road, which was successfully transloaed and the roadway reopened.

Oke-Osanyintolu concluded that all operations had been completed and the roads restored. He emphasized the agency's commitment to emergency response and urged road users to follow safety regulations.
