Lahore: Azerbaijani Woman Allegedly Sexually Assaulted By 3 Men, 3 Detained; Vehicle Recovered

In Lahore, Pakistan, a 20-year-old Azerbaijani woman was allegedly gang-raped by three men in September 2023, according to police reports. The victim, who had arrived in Pakistan from Baku for business purposes, was reportedly staying in the Raiwind area of Lahore. Police claim that a woman and two others took the Azerbaijani national to a cafe in the DHA area around 11 PM on September 25.

Three men are said to have joined them at the cafe. The suspects allegedly offered a ride to the victim and her companions, but instead of dropping them off, the men allegedly took her to a flat where she was given an intoxicating substance before the sexual assault. The woman was later abandoned near the Ghazi Interchange. Police also claim that the victim's iPhone was stolen by the suspects.

The vehicle used in the crime has been recovered from the relative of the main suspect. Three people have been detained for questioning in connection with the alleged assault. Police are investigating the role of the two women who took the victim to the cafe and have placed the three male suspects on a stop list to prevent them from leaving Pakistan.

The victim has undergone a medical examination, and a case has been registered under the Pakistan Penal Code. The investigation is ongoing, with police questioning the detained individuals and conducting further raids to locate and apprehend the suspects.
