Khamenei warns US as Iran vows to clear Arabian Sea of enemy forces

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has warned the United States that Tehran will soon expel foreign enemy forces from the Arabian Sea as tensions between the two nations escalate. In a recent statement posted on his Telegram channel, Khamenei claimed that Iranian forces had already driven enemy vessels away from waters off southern Iran into the Arabian Sea.

He stated that the enemy forces are too afraid to enter the Persian Gulf. Further, Khamenei vowed that Iranian forces would soon clear the Arabian Sea of any foreign forces. These remarks come as US military operations in the region and Iran's attempts to control maritime access through the Strait of Hormuz continue to intensify.

Iran has also cautioned neighboring countries against permitting the US to utilize their territories or military installations during the ongoing conflict. Khamenei has previously called for the removal of US military bases from countries across the region, while Iranian officials have warned that the confrontation could extend beyond the Persian Gulf and Red Sea and even reach the Indian Ocean.

An adviser to Khamenei, Yahya Rahim Safavi, recently suggested that hostilities could spread into the Indian Ocean if Washington carried out additional attacks against Iran. The Indian Ocean has gained increased significance in the conflict due to its proximity to vital maritime routes and the presence of the US-British military base at Diego Garcia.

At the forefront of the dispute remains the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, which links the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and serves as a crucial route for global oil shipments. Iran has been attempting to restrict shipping through the strait during the conflict, while the United States has insisted on unrestricted passage for international vessels.

However, Khamenei did not specify the exact foreign forces he referred to or provide details about the operation that allegedly pushed them towards the Arabian Sea.
