Kalmuri combines screenshots, screen recording, and OCR in a simple Windows app

Kalmuri is a free and portable Windows application designed for screen capture and recording. It provides users with options for full-screen or area capture, as well as the ability to take screenshots and record MP4 videos. The software supports various image formats like PNG, JPG, BMP, and GIF, and video format MP4. Notably, Kalmuri also includes Optical Character Recognition (OCR) capabilities, allowing users to extract text from images directly, eliminating the need for separate OCR software.

The application features floating-image previews and color picking, and can be controlled using hotkeys. For recording videos, users select the MP4 option from the output menu. In portable versions of Kalmuri, a separate FFmpeg.exe file must be placed in the program's folder to enable high-quality video recording, provided FFmpeg is recognized.
