Honda pauses Bangkok motorcycle production due to flooding

Thailand has declared a two-day holiday for government employees in Bangkok and three nearby provinces from September 28 to 29, according to Reuters. The Thai cabinet approved the special leave due to intense rainfall and flooding in the region. The government implemented this measure to minimize travel and avoid traffic disruptions for the general public, although it emphasized that crucial business activities could proceed as necessary.

The situation in Bangkok, which was declared a disaster zone on September 26, saw cars partially submerged and residents stockpiling essential supplies. While floodwaters had begun to recede as of September 27, some individuals were still trapped at home. The civil service holiday potentially posed a challenge for the reading of a verdict by the Thai Constitutional Court in a case involving ballots used in the country's February elections. Nonetheless, the court affirmed that the verdict would proceed as scheduled.
