Holkar College Clash Row Escalates In Indore, Karni Sena Blocks AB Road

Indore, Madhya Pradesh: Student clashes following a Ganesh immersion event at Holkar Science College turned violent on Monday when the Karni Sena protested the suspension of seven students, accusing the institution of biased action. The dispute began in the parking lot, where Karni Sena and ABVP-affiliated students reportedly exchanged blows with belts and sticks before venturing into a computer lab.

Two individuals suffered serious injuries. The college's disciplinary committee suspended seven students, leading to the registration of an FIR against nine others by the Bhanwarkuan police. Karni Sena activists arrived at the college around 1 pm, denouncing Principal Major Dr Anamika Jain. Despite a failed meeting between Karni Sena representatives and Jain, the protesters tore up their memorandum and staged a sit-in on AB Road, obstructing traffic for nearly an hour.

The blockade was lifted after reassurances from police that their grievances would be addressed. Karni Sena's national president, Dharmendra Singh Gautam, alleged that both factions participated in the skirmish but claimed the college targeted seven students under pressure from the ABVP. Jain affirmed that all students involved in the violence were suspended, with their parents summoned to the college.

She reiterated that the decision to suspend the students lay solely with the disciplinary committee and could not be overturned by her alone.
