Flights to Dubai face further delays after Sunday disruption

Flights to Dubai faced further delays on Monday morning, following major disruptions on Sunday. Dubai International Airport's flight status page indicated that flydubai planes from Kazakhstan, including those from Almaty and Tashkent, experienced delays of 52 minutes and 64 minutes respectively. A flydubai flight from Dushanbe, Tajikistan's capital, was delayed by an hour and 17 minutes, landing at 9.07am instead of the scheduled 7.50am.

Additional flydubai flights from locations like Moscow, Yekaterinburg in Russia, and Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, were also expected to arrive late at the airport.

Emirates Flight from London Heathrow to Dubai, originally set to depart at 6.40am, was rescheduled to 8.30am. Flight schedules were being adjusted, but not all delays were attributed to the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict. Many of the delays were due to the prolonged war in Ukraine that began in recent weeks. On Sunday, hundreds of flights from Russia were affected, with some flights canceled and over 40 delayed for more than two hours.

As of 8am on Monday morning, flights to and from Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport were running largely on schedule. Flights departing Dubai International Airport on Monday morning also proceeded as usual. UAE airlines are now operating near full capacity, having reduced services during the peak of the Iran war. Ukrainian drone attacks on Moscow on September 19 delayed more than 400 flights and caused several diversions.

Travelers to and from the UAE are advised to check their airline's flight status before going to the airport.
