Erneuerbare Energien: Solarstromproduktion übertrifft bereits jetzt Vorjahreswert

This year, Germany has already produced more solar energy by the end of September than it did throughout the entire previous year. As of September 27th, 90.2 Terawatt-hours of solar energy had been generated, surpassing the total 90.0 Terawatt-hours produced in all of 2025. The Bundesverband Solarwirtschaft (BSW-Solar) reported this achievement based on data from Energy-Charts of the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE. They designated September 27th as "Solar Day."

The record was attributed to an unusually high number of sunshine hours and the continued expansion of photovoltaic systems. New installations were undertaken in residential and commercial buildings, as well as on open land. Simultaneously, battery storage systems are gaining importance. BSW-Solar's managing director Carsten Körnig emphasized that solar energy is no longer a niche technology. It is citizen's energy, corporate energy, and a cornerstone of our power supply.

However, the association warned of potential investment barriers due to the planned EEG revision in 2027 and the so-called "Netzpauschale." Körnig stated, "The solar record is a reason for joy, but not for complacency. We must not impede the investment readiness of citizens and companies at this crucial moment." The revision of the Renewable Energies Act (EEG) and the Netzpauschale aim to align the expansion of renewables with cost efficiency, energy security, and actual network capacity.

Specifically, it plans for better regional coordination of feed-in, and starting in 2027, small, often privately installed solar systems with an installed capacity under 25 kilowatts will no longer receive ongoing subsidies.
