Dénia hospital showcases pioneering spine surgery live at national congress

Dénia Hospital showcased its pioneering spinal surgery techniques at a national congress in Valencia, live-streaming two minimally invasive procedures to over 100 specialists. The operations, part of the SECPEC congress, allowed attendees to witness endoscopic spinal surgery in real-time. Specializing in conditions like spinal stenosis and vertebral instability, the hospital began using endoscopic techniques in 2017, becoming the first in the Valencian Community to adopt the method.

The procedures, which involve small incisions and the use of endoscopes, can treat around 80% of common spinal issues, often resulting in less post-operative pain, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery. The live demonstrations were part of a broader program involving spine surgeons from across the country and additional healthcare professionals.
