CDA Clears 750 Kanals to Speed Up Development of Islamabad’s Long-Delayed Sector

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved the clearance of approximately 750 kanals of acquired land in Islamabad's Sector E-12, removing a significant obstacle to the sector's development which has been delayed for 37 years. On Saturday, CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf toured Sector E-12 to assess the advancement of ongoing development projects.

He was informed that the cleared land had been subject to unauthorized occupation, hindering development in the area. The chairman instructed his team to expedite work on the cleared regions, ensuring all activities adhere to approved plans, standards, and laws. The operation was carried out in partnership with the Islamabad administration as part of a wider initiative to eliminate encroachments and address longstanding issues affecting Islamabad's development.

Authorities also announced that allotment letters have been issued to rightful claimants following the verification of their claims and completion of necessary legal procedures. During the verification, the CDA discovered unauthorized structures and occupation on state-leased land. The Authority stated that legal action will be taken against those involved in unauthorized construction, occupation, or commercial use of the land. Despite being initiated in 1989, Sector E-12 remains unfinished.
