Cadangan laras gaji minimum perlu imbang kebajikan pekerja, kelangsungan majikan

Economic Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir emphasized that the implementation of a minimum wage increase must balance the well-being of workers with the sustainability of employers, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (PMKS). He stated that the government must consider the financial implications for these companies if the minimum wage is increased.

Speaking to reporters after visiting the Kluang District Police Headquarters (IPD) Kluang, Nasir said that while any developments, including a potential RM2,000 minimum wage increase, should await Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's Budget 2027 announcement, the government has allocated RM127 million for the renovation and maintenance of police quarters and police stations nationwide under the First Rolling Plan (RP1) 2026 Malaysia Plan 13 (RMK13).

This includes an additional RM5 million through the Notice of Change (NOC) compared to the original budget of RM122 million. Of this total, RM44.35 million is allocated for the renovation and maintenance of police stations, while RM77.65 million covers the renovation and maintenance of 3,716 police quarters nationwide. In Kluang, RM3.7 million is earmarked for upgrading 10 police quarters and upgrading the premises of the IPD Kluang.

Nasir added that this approach ensures that development funds are targeted at genuine needs and have an impact on the delivery of public services.
