Bumi Economic Transformation Plan 2035 reaches 68% implementation

Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has announced that the Bumiputera Economic Transformation Plan 2035, also known as Putera35, has reached 68.55% implementation as of August 31. This plan, chaired by Zahid, aims to strengthen Bumiputera economic resilience. Speaking on Facebook, Zahid highlighted that 628 development programs have been initiated under Putera35, with 214 fully completed and another 318 currently being implemented.

The deputy prime minister emphasized that the success of Putera35 should not be measured solely by the number of programs implemented. Instead, he stressed the importance of assessing the extent to which the plan has enhanced Bumiputera economic ownership, control, and competitiveness. During a recent meeting of the Bumiputera Economic Council steering committee, Zahid focused on strengthening Bumiputera economic resilience and accelerating the implementation of Putera35.

The meeting also addressed efforts to bolster the Bumiputera entrepreneur ecosystem, including measures to support women entrepreneurs, create Bumiputera champions, expand export markets, and strengthen governance through follow-up actions on the seven declarations from the Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Convention 2035.
