Bumi Economic Transformation Plan 2035 reaches 68% implementation

Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi revealed that the Bumiputera Economic Transformation Plan 2035, also known as Putera35, has reached 68.55% completion as of August 31. The Deputy Prime Minister, who is also the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, emphasized in a Facebook post that the success of Putera35 should be measured by the enhancement of Bumiputera economic ownership, control, and competitiveness, rather than solely by the number of implemented programs.

Earlier, Zahid chaired a meeting of the Bumiputera Economic Council steering committee, which focused on strengthening Bumiputera economic resilience and accelerating Putera35's implementation. The committee discussed measures to strengthen the Bumiputera entrepreneur ecosystem, including follow-up actions on the seven declarations from the Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Convention 2035.

These declarations highlight the importance of developing women entrepreneurs, creating Bumiputera champions, expanding export markets, and strengthening governance.
