Bose’s new wired earbuds aim for the same great sound and ANC – no charging needed

Shortly after unveiling new clip-on-style open-ear earbuds, Bose is expanding its product line by introducing a new category: wired USB-C earbuds. The Bose Noise Canceling Earbuds combine Bose's renowned sound quality and noise cancellation without the need for wireless connectivity and frequent charging. These earbuds offer Quiet, Aware, and ANC-Off modes, which enable users to access noise cancellation, transparency, and off audio modes.

According to Bose's press release, the new earbuds feature four microphones for capturing and canceling environmental noise, with a dedicated microphone on the back of the earbuds' connected remote handling voice pickup. The Noise Canceling Earbuds utilize the USB Audio Class 2 protocol, which allows them to accept audio from a source device at any sample and bit rate, while maintaining a fixed output of 24-bit/48kHz for high-quality listening.

A wired USB-C connection ensures high-quality, low-latency streaming, making these earbuds perfect for audio/video content and gaming on personal devices.

The USB-C connection is compatible with USB Audio Class 2 and Bose's proprietary Sound Design DSP, enabling the earbuds to draw power from the connected source device, even with noise cancellation activated. In addition to the controls on the in-line remote, which allow users to adjust volume and track playback, the earbuds also include removable eartips in small, medium, and large sizes made of silicone for a comfortable fit.

As with Bose's traditional designs, the Noise Canceling Earbuds feature a pop of color, with the Black in-line remote sporting blue accents, the White Smoke in-line remote displaying lime green accents, and a limited-edition Dewdrop Mint color available at launch. Bose members can preorder the Noise Canceling Earbuds today, and the earbuds are set to hit shelves on October 15 for $99.
