After ‘Mirzapur: The Movie’ success, Raghubir Yadav explains why a ‘Panchayat’ movie may not work

Dubai: The box-office success of Mirzapur: The Movie has sparked speculation about adapting other popular web series into films. Panchayat actor Raghubir Yadav, who plays Pradhan Pati, believes a movie adaptation could be problematic. The actor, who has an extensive career in both Hindi cinema and television, recently commented on the possibility of a Panchayat film.

He stated that the decision ultimately rests with the writers and that he would not interfere if it were made. Yadav questioned whether the show's story could be condensed into a two- or three-hour movie, given the detailed portrayal of village life that makes up the series. He suggested that the writer might have many more seasons in mind and that ruining the series with a single film would be a possibility.
