(2nd LD) BTS sweeps 3 categories at MTV VMAs; BLACKPINK's Lisa wins Best Pop

K-pop sensation BTS claimed victory in three categories at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Sunday. The group won Song of the Year for "Swim," their lead track from the album "Arirang," as well as Best K-pop and Best Group. This marks BTS's first Song of the Year win, the pinnacle of the VMAs. Meanwhile, BLACKPINK member Lisa became the first Asian solo artist to win Best Pop for her song "Dream," featuring Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi.

Lisa's performance of a powerful rendition of "SaWaDiKa" was also highlighted during the ceremony. The event saw other K-pop acts like Jennie from BLACKPINK, Cortis from Boyfriend, and Katseye from Girl's Generation, among others, nominated but leave empty-handed. The night belonged to Madonna, who clinched seven awards, including Best Dance, Best Collaboration, Best Cinematography, and Best Album, making her the night's biggest winner.
