10-man Indonesia hold Malaysia to goalless draw in Fifa Asean Cup

Malaysia faced a goalless draw against Indonesia in the 2026 Division 1 Group A match of the Fifa Asean Cup at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta. Indonesia started the match with 11 players after midfielder Thom Haye received a red card in the 37th minute following a VAR review. Despite being a man down for nearly half the game, Malaysia, under interim coach Tan Cheng Hoe, failed to find the back of the net.

The hosts had a penalty claim dismissed in the third minute when Justin Hubner was penalized for a foul. The change nearly paid off when Josue headed a cross for Manuel Hidalgo, but his header was off target.

Substitution Fergus Tierney missed a late chance to score for Malaysia. Malaysia will play Singapore in their final group match at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, while Indonesia will face Bangladesh in the same fixture. Singapore defeated Bangladesh 1-0 in another Group A game.
