Under-construction building collapses near Ambala City, 10 injured; some feared trapped

An under-construction building in Ambala City collapsed on Sunday, injuring at least 10 labourers, officials told PTI. Construction workers were present at the site when the structure collapsed, leading to an immediate response from locals who began rescue efforts before police and emergency services arrived. Police and senior officials arrived at the scene with specialized rescue equipment to start clearing the debris on an urgent basis.

Heavy earth-moving machines and other specialized equipment were being utilized to remove the debris, according to one official. The injured labourers were transported to Ambala Civil Hospital for treatment. Police confirmed that more workers may be trapped under the rubble and are currently being searched for. One of the injured workers reported that around 10 labourers were working on the ground floor, with approximately 15 engaged in casting work above when the building collapsed.

An investigation into the cause of the collapse will commence once the rescue operation is concluded.
