Two History-Sheeters Arrested After Police Encounter In Gorkar Brothers Murder Case In MP’s Ujjain

Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh: In the wake of the Gorkar brothers' murder, police have apprehended two history-sheeters following a police encounter. The suspects, who tried to escape during their transfer to the police station, sustained leg injuries from the officers' gunfire. The Gorkar brothers, who owned Harsiddhi Restaurant, were killed by members of the notorious Pasi gang on July 18.

The incident unfolded when an old feud between the two factions erupted in violence, resulting in gunfire and knife attacks. Lokesh died at the scene, while Jitesh succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Their uncle and son, both BJP leaders, were also gravely injured. Although police had already detained a dozen suspects, Sonu Pasi and Vijay Suryavanshi managed to evade capture.

The two fugitives were hiding at the residence of Sonu's sister in Karohan. A team from the Neelganga police station tracked and apprehended them. While being transported to the police station, the suspects attempted to flee, prompting officers to discharge their weapons in self-defense. Both suspects sustained bullet injuries to their legs and are presently receiving medical attention.

Sonu Pasi, considered a habitual offender with 14 cases registered against him, faces charges under the Arms Act and for illegal liquor sales. Vijay Suryavanshi also has two criminal cases registered against him. Police spokesperson SP Pradeep Sharma confirmed that the suspects tried to escape from police custody, and officers responded with force.

Both individuals will be presented before a court, where the police will seek their remand and inquire about individuals who may have sheltered and protected them.
