Sergi Solans scores 2 goals, RSL beats Revolution 3-0 to snap 13-game winless skid

Sergi Solans netted two goals, his second multi-goal performance this season, while Aiden Hezarkhani added another for Real Salt Lake, as they defeated the New England Revolution 3-0 on Saturday night in a game that ended a 13-game winless streak for the Utah team. Real Salt Lake, who had lost four consecutive matches and seven of their previous eight games, secured their first victory since a 2-1 home win over Colorado on May 16.

Aiden Hezarkhani, a 19-year-old homegrown talent, opened the scoring in the second minute with a first-touch shot off a clearance attempt. Sergi Solans capitalized on a counter-attack, finishing calmly past goalkeeper Matt Turner from near the penalty spot to make it 2-0 in the 62nd minute. Solans extended the lead with a point-blank shot to make it 3-0 in the 80th minute.

Despite having 62% possession and outshooting the Revolution 14-9, the New England team's three-game winning streak came to an end.
