QF’s QIYADA conference calls on Muslim youth to make goals and dreams their compass

Doha, Qatar - The second edition of Qatar Foundation's QIYADA conference concluded, emphasizing the significance of Muslim youth finding a "compass" to guide them and leveraging technology for positive change. Over 1,300 young Muslims from Qatar participated in the two-day gathering at Multaqa (Education City Student Center), discussing faith, identity, leadership, and addressing contemporary challenges.

The conference, themed "Guided by Faith: Thriving in a Changing World," was organized by Qatar Foundation's Office of Wellness and Spiritual Life, with support from Qatar International Islamic Bank and the Ministry of Sports and Youth.

Educational consultant Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Harami presented on "The Compass: Which Direction?," encouraging attendees to identify the aspect of their lives they are willing to dedicate their time and effort to as their compass. He urged young people not to give up, emphasizing that those who persevere will be recognized for their dreams and aspirations.

Sheikh Hisham Abu Yusuf, a Muslim chaplain and khatib, discussed technology and its role in leadership during a talk titled "Prophetic Leadership in the Age of AI." He suggested practical steps, such as taking a break from social media and learning a skill that can utilize technology for the greater good. Dr. Osman Umarji, Director of Global Data Studies at Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research and Senior Consultant to Qatar Foundation, addressed the challenges of a rapidly changing world, focusing on the impact of Artificial Intelligence and the need for young people to adapt and find their purpose in life.

Media professional Sheikh Abdullah Al Buainain concluded the conference by encouraging attendees to determine their identity as Muslims and discover their unique role in the world.
