PRN Melaka uji kemampuan PN tarik sokongan tanpa ‘identiti bersama’, kata penganalisis

A political analyst suggests that the removal of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) symbol could test the strength of the constituent parties, should the unified symbol not be used. This follows the suspension of several PN activities on September 23 in response to Bersatu's allegations of PN's charter violation by the new leadership. Ahmad Zaharuddin Sani Ahmad Sabri, from Global Asia Consulting, believes that the absence of a unified symbol could impact campaign consolidation.

He emphasizes that the symbol is not just a logo, but an identity that helps voters identify the party they are voting for and the coalition they represent. JPPM suspended all PN activities after receiving complaints from Bersatu regarding alleged charter violations by the new PN leadership. Awang Azman Pawi, from Universiti Malaya, warns that such suspension could weaken PN's organization, branding, and the perception of unity within the coalition, especially if constituent parties use their own symbols.

This could make the unified message less clear. However, Awang notes that the uncertain status of PN cannot be seen as an advantage for Pakatan Harapan (PH), as the election outcome depends on individual candidates, diverse perspectives, local issues, and the ability to transfer support between parties. The real challenge, according to Awang, is the identity of the election.

The strength of their campaign still relies on individual voters, local issues, and the ability to transfer support between parties. Despite these developments, Zaharuddin suggests that Bersatu is currently facing a difficult question about its direction. If Bersatu does not want to align with BN and the relationship with PAS to deteriorate, it needs to decide whether to maintain existing cooperation or explore new paths.

Awang Azman believes that PRN Melaka could potentially test three models of political cooperation: BN+, PH+, and the restructuring of constituent parties.
