Passenger dies after jumping off moving bus in Lagos

A male passenger lost his life after jumping from a moving bus that crashed into a median pole in Lagos. The incident occurred at Ogunlana Junction in the Surulere area of the city. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) reported the tragedy in a statement on Sunday. The commercial Volkswagen bus, with registration number LND 130 XR, was allegedly driven recklessly and had been under the influence of alcohol by the driver.

Motorists warned others to avoid a collision as the bus drove erratically. The passenger jumped out of the vehicle in an attempt to escape and tragically died from his injuries. LASTMA officers quickly responded to the scene, securing the crash and removing the deceased from the road. The agency emphasized the dangers of drunk driving, reckless motoring, and driving damaged vehicles on public roads.
